Estuaries
There are different kinds of Estuaries.
The Great Ones gives :
- +2 Trade Power Value and +20% Trade Power
- +2.5 Naval Force Limit
The Normal Ones and Delta Estuary gives :
- +1 Trade Power Value and +0.10 Trade Power
- +0.75 Naval Force Limit
Some Estuaries provinces can also indirectly have a natural harbour, and therefore some bonuses like Ship Repair, Defensiveness, Sailors and also the ability to build better Harbour Infrastructures (see below).
The Delta Estuaries are usually bad natural harbours, and therefore have the maluses of "Lack of Natural Harbour"
Natural Harbours
There are 2 types of Natural Harbours
The Great Natural Harbours :
- +1.5 Province Trade Power and +15% Trade Power
- +1.5 Naval Force Limit
- +10/25% Local Defensiveness (According to the province)
- -10% Ship Recruit Speed
- -20% Local Ship Repair Time
- +30% Sailors
It allows you to build all Ranks of Military Harbours and Trade Harbours (1 to 5)
Basic Natural Harbours :
- +1 Province Trade Power and +10% Trade Power
- +0.75 Naval Force Limit
- +5% Local Defensiveness
- -10% Local Ship Repair Time
- +15% Sailors
It allows you to build Military Harbours (Rank 1 to 3) and Trade Harbour (Rank 4)
Therefore, in a basic province, you can build Trade Harbour (Rank 1 to 3) and the 1st rank of Military Harbour.
Lack of Natural Harbour
A lack of Natural Harbour in a province gives direct maluses :
- +25% Ship Recruit Speed
- +25% Ship Repair Time
- -25% Sailors
Futhermore, you can't build :
- Harbour Infrastructure (Rank 1 to 4)
- Military Harbour (Rank 1 to 4)
You can just build the Harbour Infrastructure (Rank 0) -> Fishing Harbour.
Confluence and others Inland Natural Places
A Confluence or others Inland Natural Places give :
- +1 Province Trade Power and +10% Trade Power
Special Provinces :
Venetian Lagoon (Great Natural Harbour) :
Venetian Lagoon is a special place with many port cities and villages, a huge natural harbour and one of the best defensive place in the world.
- +5 Trade Power and +20% Trade Power
- +5 Naval Forcelimit
- -10% Ship Recruit Speed
- -20% Repair Ship Time
- +30% Sailors
- +1 Fort Level and +50% Defensiveness (Venetian Islands)
- +3 Hostile Attrition
Ligurian Coast (Great Natural Harbour) with Genoa and La Spezia :
The Ligurian Coast is perfectly located on the West of Italy, with the natural harbour of Genoa and many port cities and villages along the coast, and with for later in the game, one of the best italian deep natural harbour in "La Spezia".

- -10% Ship Recruit Speed
- -20% Repair Ship Time

Yangzhou Canal Confluence (Confluence of the Great Chinese Canal and Yangtze River) :
- +10 Trade Power and +25% Trade Power
Strait (Gibraltar, Calais, Kerch, Dardanelles, Great Lakes Straits and many others :
- +1/1.5 Trade Power and +10% Trade Power.
